This checklist is based on applied best practices and lessons learned by some agencies with existing data governance programs that have successfully (as determined by the agency) delivered real business value.

Program Purpose: Program has a defined and documented purpose (e.g., mission, core principles, goals, objectives) for data governance describes how it and the data system support the state’s or agency’s policy and program goals.
