Washington Health Benefit Exchange (HBE) won recognition in the 2014 State IT Awards presented by the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) as a finalist in the Digital Government to Citizens category for the Washington Healthplanfinder: As Facilitator for Washington State's Health Insurance Market.
The HBE was created in state statute in 2011 as a "public-private partnership," separate and distinct from the state. The Exchange is responsible for the creation of Washington Healthplanfinder, an easily accessible, online marketplace for individuals, families and small businesses to find, compare and enroll in Qualified Health Plans.
