160.00 Geospatial Data Management Policy

SCOPE

This policy applies to state of Washington executive branch agencies, agencies headed by separately elected officials, and institutions of higher education referred to as “agencies” throughout this document.  Academic and research applications at institutions of higher education are exempt.

PURPOSE

161.03 Hydrography Data Standard

Purpose

Hydrography data is a critical base data element used to support Washington State’s mission of protecting the environmental quality of the air, land, and water resources of Washington state.  The objective of this standard is to designate a single, common hydrography data model for agency geospatial data, geographic information systems, and data exchanges.  Geo-data that is built on common technical standards:

Email Naming Guidelines

E-Mail Naming Standard Guidelines (as of 11/30/2015)

Use one of the methods listed below in order to resolve duplicates.  These methods are listed in order of preference.

  1. Use the employees preferred first name or nickname (jim.smith or  jt.smith)
  2. Add a middle initial (james.t.smith)
  3. Add a number if no middle initial (james.smith2)
  4. Add a middle initial and number (james.t.smith2)
